Great Gear For All

No, anyone is allowed to participate in the after school golf programs.
No, in fact, we cannot think of two more similar motions in all of sports. Running does not effect ones ability to walk, nor does standing effect ones ability to sit down. You'd be hard pressed to find a professional major league baseball player who doesn't have golf clubs in his trunk.
No, all equipment is provided.
No, your child shouldn't bring their clubs to school as that causes too many problems such as where to keep them all day and other safety concerns. Yes, as a parent, you can bring them to the after school program to allow your child to play with their own equipment if so desired.
Yes, we do encourage students to bring their own equipment to summer camps, clinics and tournaments.
There are no requirements for other items, however, you might consider having your child bring creature comfort items such as; change of clothes if desired, water bottle, snacks, hat, sunscreen, lip balm, bug spray and any required medical items such as an inhaler for example.
Each school has its own designated area to gather for the golf class such as the gym. Students will be notified of that area and in most cases, a teacher or a PGA representative will supervise the students until the start of golf class. At that time, the students will be escorted to the area of the property where the golf class will take place.
There are rules, etiquette and putting sessions built into the curriculums. In the event of inclement weather, the class is conducted either indoors or under shelter.
In most cases, the golf class will start within 10 or 15 minutes after school lets out and lasts for one hour. This time varies from school to school as schedules are different. Please check the schedule for your school for the posted times.
Pro Golf Academy has a policy of a maximum 10 to 1 ratio between students and instructors. However, we strive to keep the ratio around 8 to 1 when practical.
All instructors have undergone a background check through the Dept. of Justice prior to having access to school property and in some cases have been required to attend a school or organization sponsored ‘Child Protection’ program. Our instructors are either PGA, LPGA or USGTF certified golf instructors and/or have undergone extensive training through our Instructor Training Programs to insure the highest levels of instruction possible.
No, the multi-level after school golf programs are designed for beginner thru advanced. The classes are usually broken up into different groups either by height, social or skill levels where different golf drills are taught. The student’s skill levels are identified and appropriate lessons are given. As in most skills, sports or musical instrument lessons, a certain amount of repetition is required. Take piano lessons for instance, certainly one could not expect a child to have mastered the piano after taking only one year of piano lessons, much less one, two or three lessons. Taking the piano example a step further, it is common that a student learns the scales in music. After diligent practice of those scales over and over under the trained eye of a teacher, the student can then begin to form music using his or her proficiency and variation of the scales. We liken this example to learning to play golf. After diligent practice of the fundamentals under the trained eye of a teacher, the student can then begin to make ‘golf shots’ using his or her proficiency of golf’s fundamentals and variations of the cause and effects of the ball flight laws. In other words, they begin to learn to control the flight of the ball. Thus they’re able to create shots based on their unique abilities and then and only then do they fully realize their potential as a golfer and experience the challenges and rewards the game offers.
Any student can enter at anytime. The programs are designed to allow for flexibility in the skill levels of the different students. Our unique teaching methods and class structures allow for a beginner to enter at anytime as well as advanced players to enter at anytime with meaningful learning taking place in both scenarios.
Click on the Register for Class section on the left, locate the school program you would like to attend and follow the simple instructions. It’s that easy.
